E - LATED!

I am e-xtremely e-lated as one of my articles was commissioned and recently published by the popular e-magazine, Pentasect.

If you want to have a look at it, you can find it right here.

It is a rather long article (be warned, please) on the contrasts between Kolkata and Mumbai, the two cities I've lived in during different seasons and have loved for different reasons. I've simplified a lot of things for the sake of contrast, so pardon the creative (ahem!) liberties (i.e, if you've the time and patience to go through it). The first and last paragraphs (of the article, not this post) are add-ons by the editor (just letting you know).

The good thing is that Pentasect has commissioned another article from me. And then there's more activity on the copywriting front as well (after a autumnal lull), so my brains and fingers are busy in tandem. Sleep has gone for a toss, but what the heck, I love this pressure, which is actually more of a pleasure, really.

Congratulations! Have you considered also adding your blog to Open Salon? Simply go to Salon.com, go to their Open Salon feature, "where you make the headlines," and create a blog there. Then simply upload whatever posts you like from your own blogs, or create new ones there. If you become an Editor's Pick occasionally, and you will, you will enjoy more readership and more comments. Gobs of fun.

Fatafati!! Aekta Boi lekha hok!!

I guess, the sentiments of your article forced out the mother tongue.:))

But, Sucharita, in the recent past the CCD's and Baristas do peaceful co-existence with the Coffee House. And the cakes of Flurys, Ginger biscuits from Nahoums and Jolbhora sandesh from Nokur is better off without any modernisation, isn't it?

There I go again----. Nostalgia , thy name is Bengal.

Congratulations!!!

I am a typical probashi and tend to put my nose up slightly when a calcatian talks of the LOVE OF KOLKATA though I would also wax eloquent when talking to non-bong friends.

Your article touched a cord.

Very lucid and well written. Not at all long for one to read and more so taking into consideration the way it is writtten.
I enjoyed every bit. The difference in 'being'in both the cities with their USPs.
